Soar and Shine Tutors is dedicated to offering exceptional tutoring services to children ages 5-18, covering all grades from kindergarten through 12th grade. We pride ourselves on personalizing each lesson to meet our students' unique needs and preferences, building loving relationships with our students and their families, and fostering self-belief and success in every student.

Responsibilities:
Personalized Lesson Planning: Tailor each lesson to meet the individual needs of students, incorporating personal elements such as friends' and family's names to enhance engagement.
Attendance and Documentation: Record attendance and detailed lesson notes at the end of every session.
Communication with Parents: Provide weekly updates to parents, ensuring clear and consistent communication about the student's progress.
Lesson Objectives: Submit lesson objectives for the following week by Sunday evenings at 10 PM.
Student Progress Monitoring: Assess and track students' academic progress, adjusting teaching methods and materials as needed.
Professional Development: Continuously improve teaching skills and stay updated with the latest educational techniques and resources.

Requirements:
Education: Associates/Bachelor's in education, psychology, social work, and/or a related subject (ELA, math, science, social studies, etc.), or currently enrolled in one of these programs. Master’s in education and/or state-licensed teachers preferred, or if currently in school for these, preferred.
Types of Positions: Part-time and/or full-time tutors for all school subjects: ELA, Math, Literacy, Science, Social Studies, Alegebra I & II, Pre-Calculas & Calculas, SAT/ACT Test Prep.
1099-Contractor Position: This is a 1099-contractor position.
An Independent Contractor, often known as a "1099 employee," is a self-employed individual who provides services to our company under a specific contract. As a contractor, you enjoy flexibility in work hours and location but are responsible for managing your own taxes and benefits.
You will work per assignment, with each assignment consisting of a package of sessions.
Typically can choose 5-, 10- or year round-session packages. Commitment to completing all sessions is required. We value relationship building and try our best to ensure that tutors stay with their students for the duration of their package.
Typical hours: Monday-Friday 2 PM - 8 PM, Saturdays 10 AM - 2 PM.
Sessions will be remote and/or in person and can be 30, 45, or 60 minutes long, depending on the package.
Compensation: $27 - $34 per hour pay rate for in-person tutoring and $22-$27 pay rate per hour for remote tutoring, depends on level of experience, education and the geographical location.

Expectations and Next Steps
Interview Process:
Submit Application: Complete and submit your application through our website.
Application Review: If selected to move forward, you will receive an email with instructions to book a video Zoom/phone interview.
Video/Phone Interview: The video/phone interview will be no more than a 20-25 minute conversation where you will answer questions regarding your experience, expertise and goals.
Demo Lesson: If successful in the phone interview, you will be invited to an in-person or remote demo-lesson. You will conduct a 15-20 minute demo lesson with a student in your level of expertise. Don't worry, we provide you the lesson topic! We aren't looking for lesson planning skills as much as we are looking for how you build connnection with students.
